Each year the programs that we are able to offer vary. Here is a list of programs that we run through our Community Services.

  • Christmas Kettle Volunteering (helping fund the services we provide)

We are well connected with our community partners. If we cannot directly help you, we will connect you with someone who can.

Clothing

We are pleased to have a beautiful Salvation Army Thrift Store in downtown New Liskeard. Inside you will find good value in our quality gently used clothing. If you are in crisis and are in need of clothing or housewares (due to fire, flooding, family breakdown) please call the office and we can offer vouchers to get you back on your feet.

Food Services. 

How can I receive food from the food bank?
Please call the office (705-647-4115) to make an appointment on Wednesday morning between 10am-12pm. You will be asked some questions about some of your needs and book a time for you to pick up your order in the afternoon.

The Food Bank is located in our church at 260 Whitewood Avenue in New Liskeard Ontario.

The Food Bank is open on Wednesdays from 1pm – 3pm. Call the office in the morning to make an appointment.

Remember: You must have an appointment. During covid we cannot accept walk-ins.

What documents do I need to provide to qualify for assistance?
Please bring proof of Identification for each family member living at your location and proof of address.

How often can I come?
You may use the services of our food bank once per month.

What areas are serviced by Temiskaming Foodbank?
We are only able to provide assistance to you at this location if you live in the following municipalities:

New Liskeard, Dymond, Thornloe, Kerns, Earlton, Elk Lake, and Belle Valle, Temiskaming First Nation and Notre Dam du Nord.

If your town is not listed just give us a call and we will find the best place for you to visit.

What products will I receive?
Most of our donated products are non-perishable, canned fruits and vegetables, rice, pasta, school snacks and cereal. We also are able to provide some frozen food products such as various meats, fruits and vegetables.  We also supplement these items with fresh milk, eggs, bread and at this time we offer funds to purchase fresh produce at Chartrands Independent Grocer in New Liskeard.
